The Challenge:
Vida Vino is a Spanish Tapas bar located at the recently rejuvenated & revamped hotspot, Keong Saik Street. It is surrounded by established bars and restaurants. This provided a challenge, to design a space that stands out from it’s competition, while not straying too far away from Spanish influences. Vida Vino needed to be transformed from a space filled with unsightly conduits & awkward columns, into a sophisticated & elegant space that offered a luxurious but unpretentious dining experience. The aim was also to design a edgy space that captured the spirit of a MED-CHIC bar with Spanish influences & contemporary touches.
The Solution:
Through the use of subtle & beautiful copper elements, assorted lighting, bespoke furniture and a bold color palette, the Stripe Collective was able to create a sophisticated space that stays true to it’s Spanish roots. Every design element was thoroughly considered.
Attention to detail was paramount. From unique styled wall paneling that extends from floor to ceiling in the dining area to the faceted bar front cladded in tinted mirror, and copper bar top, that sparkle from the natural light that spills in from outside.
To further emphasize the bar, the surrounding walls and ceiling are painted teal and dark grey respectively to ensure they do not compete for attention. For the main dining area we were able to use a mixed color pallet to compliment & contrasts each other seamlessly. To create visual interest in such a small space, walls were painted in warm Spanish orange, powder grey & Mediterranean teal.
In order to create a warm and inviting environment, a dark wooden floor throughout the space unifies & compliments the touches of copper that jump out around the room. Intimate lighting, mixed leather armchairs and banquette seats create a cozy and luxurious atmosphere different from the other more industrial tapas bars in Singapore.
